Changing SL Rear brake pads with the electronic park brake....
I have a mechanic who is scared to change the rear brake pads on my 2013 R231 SL500 (pre face lift) due to the fact that there is an electronic hand brake.
Is there a menu somewhere that you can access that is designed to release it while the car is parked up - or do you just follow the instructions to set the car up to tow in the manual.
Is it simple or are other tricks needed to get this job done.

Many cars use an electronic Parking Brake these day's - Generally easy to turn off through software.
Cant imagine a mechanic who has not done so yet,

A friend and I had no problem installing rear brake pads on my 2015 SL. I released the parking brake before the install and the old pads were easily removed. No software changes were needed.
