SL/R231: Tires for 2017 SL450
As for your tires. I've only used Michelin Sports for our 06 SL. I typically research all online prices and my MB dealership price matches, so I have the work done by them. They understand how important it is to carefully mount and balance the tires so that the wheels and tire pressure sensors are not damaged.
If you have a Discount Tire in your area, I found them to be the best pricing. The Continental Extreme Contact Sport 295/35/19's for the two rear cost me $603.00 out the door.

Also, I am a little reluctant to let anybody but the dealer touch this car. Whenever I decide what tires I want and get some pricing, I am hopeful the dealer will get the tires I want and get a reasonable price. Right now, I am just lining up my ducks. Thank you for all your help. I am a little afraid of a $12 an hour guy back in the tire shop messing with this car.

Here’s a photo the day I took delivery with the stock wheels.

As you can see in the attached photo, the 295/35/20 is hardly taller than the front yet fills the area and satisfies the look I wanted.

I reached out to my stereo guru short time ago. I sent him all the information another MB owner posted about upgrading the sound system. He has not responded as of yet.
There is a post on the MB Forum here with photos detailing exactly what to do to enhance the sound system. The individual who made the post stated that this upgrade, and I agree, is not an easy task.
However, I intend to do it and will let you know.
Until then, try to find the post previously on this forum about the sound system. He did a great job explaining with photos.
Enjoy!
Spinalator,
I used 20 mm spacers for all four wheels. The company I went with was: www.4wheelspacers.com
They were not the cheapest but I feel I made the right choice in quality.
I did lower the vehicle using the Brabus lowering springs on all 4. The company I purchased the Brabus lowering springs were:
www.3WDistributing.com
The Photo will give you the end result if this is the look you are going for!
Good Luck!

I would say that it is like driving in the sport mode all the time while driving in the comfort mode.
The sport mode I still use most of the time. Yes it is a little less MB comfortable, however, to me, I like the stiffness and enjoy the ride.
There were rumors that installing the Brabus springs would greatly deteriorate the ride and also make a metal on metal knocking noise when hitting a bump, I have not heard that nor noticed any difference there.
All in all, I am glad I did lower the vehicle, put on the wheel spacers and put a larger size tire on the rear.
Good Luck!
I have read pretty much everything I can find about improving or retrofitting the sound of the audio system including the threads here.
When I read your post, it sounded to me like you were looking at another solution to the problem besides what is here. I also read it to mean that you were going to do the retrofit yourself....by yourself...a DIY project type thing. That would have really interested me.
I just misunderstood what you meant. When you said you were going to do it....I thought you meant something different. All is good.

No! Doing the stereo is way beyond me doing it! Lol.
It is definitely on here, let me look.
If not, I can email it to you. I copied and saved it.
