I finally found my dream car, a 2014 SL550 with 39k miles. It's nearly pristine inside and out. Quite nice for 7 years old. I've been lurking this forum for the last few months and looking for the right SL. It's now safely tucked into my garage. Chicago area winter is not always pleasant, so I'm getting a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE980 A/S installed and will save the currently installed Pole Position SO4s for next summer. Actually, the SO4s handled just fine on a cold, dry interstate cruise. I'm astounded how it cruises just as smoothly at 55 mph as 85 mph. Since my other vehicle is an F250 4x4, I don't care about snow, but I don't want to have to be concerned about driving in low temperatures. I love the interior color, more of a raspberry/burgundy red and not a bright red. Definitely different. Now I'm really looking forward to some top-down weather! For some reason I haven't taken a picture of the interior so I borrowed this on from the dealer's web site.
Welcome. I also have red interior but they are ventilated seats so I think they are a different style but the same beautiful shade of red. We had a nice sunny day today so my wife and I took a nice ride in ours. Hope to see you on the forum.

Stunning, I found my '14 SL 550 in Ft Lauderdale 3 months ago. One owner with 18,154 miles. Makes me smile every time I go into the garage. Enjoy!
Wow 18k! In the past few months I was shopping, there were maybe 3 SL550s within 500 miles of the Chicago area in my price range, which was generally 2013s or 2014s and none with that kind of mileage. When mine showed up in my searches, I pounced on it. Even with just under 40k miles, there's barely a mark on it. A couple very minor rock chips that would almost need a magnifying glass to find and a few slight scratches in the wood trim that I can only see at the right angle in the right light. Yup, I smile every time I go in the garage too. And every time I punch the gas pedal. 😀
I looked nationwide for about a month before finding two in Ft Lauderdale. A black one with 36K and the white one at 18,154. I really wanted black but couldn't turn down the mileage on the white one. Then when I got it home, I found a receipt in the manual with the owner's name and phone number. I called him and talked for about 20 minutes. He said he bought it new, never had any trouble with it and picked up a mid engine corvette as a replacement. He told me he regretted getting rid of the SL. One tip, don't take it to the dealer unless you absolutely have to. When I lived in Chicago back in the 80s, I was driving 911 Porsches back then and always took it to a foreign repair place on Clybourne. They were really good and a lot cheaper than the Porsche dealer. I think it was Lincoln Park Import service. Not sure if they're still there but, definitely find an independent.
