Turbo Boost Gauge

Has anyone replaced the analog clock on the dash with a turbo boost gauge? I really don't need three devices telling me what time it is (I'm retired and don't care) and a boost gauge would be perfect there.

Jeez...that's a really good idea. I'd only do it if it could be made to look factory, though.

Of course! The outer diameter of the clock is 52mm, which is a standard gauge size. I just need to know how to remove the clock. Sounds like a project for warmer weather, though. I don't want to break anything.

Something like this would be perfect! I could even go with a 20 psi range since I don't plan on boosting more than 20 psi max. With the ECU tune from Vivid I'm hitting about 17 psi according to the boost monitor using my scan tool.

Turbo boost is non adjustable and you have no control over it. What purpose would a gage serve?

I understand why aircraft have them since Turbo boost is adjustable.

He already has a tune (more boost) and is, apparently, planning further experimentation...so it makes sense for him. Also, as he pointed out, none of us really needs three different clocks on display all the time, so what good is the dash clock doing anyway? I get it. Frankly, I've often wondered what the boost level was on my standard tune. I would consider doing this myself if someone was offering a plug-and-play, factory-look solution.

Well, then you've never really tuned a turbo car. Arguably, boost is mechanically adjustable, though I recommend against it.

A boost gauge is a good diagnostic and early warning tool to ensure you are boosting consistently and that you have no vacuum leaks. Of course, with the sensitivities of modern cars, you'll probably get some other indicator of a problem. But I personally want to know my boost levels. It's not for everyone, so you can take it or leave it.

It’s easy to activate/code the AMG menu in the instrument cluster but I am not sure if it shows the turbo boost gauge. We have that on the AMG and shows the current boost in real time.
Worth checking as there is no physical mod.

Maybe the AMG GT but I have no boost indication anywhere in my AMG R231 SL63 as far as I can see. There are dash boost indicators in my Porsche 996 Turbo and even my son's VW GTI, so I would also welcome the feature in my SL.
