Sorry for being slow, but I do not get the Aux connection. Where does the Aux connector that’s plugged into the jack come from? Is that provided by Road Top kit or is that a separate connector that I need to get?
I guess it’s an MI connector that I need to purchase separately.

The Aux port is the USB port inside the center armrest. Check around page 471 of your Operator's Manual.

2020 NAV update No longer available?
Funny I was just chatting with my MB dealer today about the nav update. They mentioned they currently had a 2020 update, but the 2022 was due out a few months ago, but hasn't arrived yet. My original maps is an older version, so I wanted to have updated streets, etc. I guess I should have asked if it was only the maps that would be updated, or would other things be updated with the new software too.
I am curious what others will chime in with on the answers you requested...

2. Once I have determined which version software I have, how do I get the most recent update if not from MBUSA?

Carplay and Back Speakers Upgrade
Hello Everyone,
There is a previous thread from Wolfman, I apologize for not finding it for you. Based on that thread, I installed the carplay with an amp to increase the back speaker sound (Alpine Multichannel 180W KTP-445U) that was given on the thread which Best Buy still sells. By purchasing through them, I paid the $120 install fee and they did all the work. I did give them a hefty tip though because they had the car for almost 6 hours. It was installed on my 2016 SL 400 and it sounds incredible. I hope this helps.

I have a USA 2015 SL63. I had it in for service and requested the latest nav/map update. MB dealer said that updates are no longer available.
1. How do I determine which NAV/map version I have?
2. Once I have determined which version software I have, how do I get the most recent update if not from MBUSA?

I updated the maps myself several months ago. I'll have to check which version they are. But, going forward, I won't be. As I posted elsewhere, I added the Road Top CarPlay/Android Auto Retrofit Kit to my car and will now be using Waze, Google Maps, or Apple Maps (along with incredibly better sound for music).
On my 2014 SL, I just found a decent phone mount and do Google Maps right from the phone.

I have given up on Mercedes Map updates. I now use either Google Maps or Waze for 100% of my drive times. Both Google and Waze are 100% free and always have the latest maps and real-time traffic and automatic re-routing.

So, I just think it is a function of the source of the music and not the speakers that make a difference.

The built-in maps are awful and always out of date. Not worth the money. I gave up on them when I did an update on my prior SL, and it still didn't have my development in the map.
On my 2014 SL, I just found a decent phone mount and do Google Maps right from the phone.

Yes I am sure the carplay helps, but the game changer was the amp that Best Buy installed. I agree, when you go into the engineering menu and select the rear speakers it still does not sound even a fraction as good as when all the speakers are integrated. I wish I could take credit here, but the Wolfman thread is how I found out lol. I am looking to see which version of carplay I had installed, and where I bought it but for the life of me I can not remember, it was only the box, not the screen too.
