2013 sl550 with abc rear strut leaking
Just had my rotors and brakes replaced on my 2013 sl550 with abc
Mechanic noticed while doing this service that one of my rear struts is “leaking”
my question is: would some weepage be normal
also if the leak was bad enough - wouldn’t abc lights etc have come on.
How urgent should I replace that strut? Can I drive as is for now?
having trouble finding replacement strut other than some Mercedes dealership websites. Any other options?

Leaks never get better,
I would double check the strut is actually leaking and not the connection (hydraulic fitting/line). But, I would probably make plans for repairs now.
Arnott refurbishes those type of struts, but reviews are mixed. And I don’t think they have R231 struts in stock. I personally would only install a factory strut. I hate doing the same repair twice!
Maybe on a new car, (from assembly) but at this stage probably not.
Sounds like you have a small leak so probably not….
If I owned a car with ABC, I would buy and stock up on extra parts now, while they’re still available. The way MB is aggressively discontinuing parts, it may be difficult to source some parts in the future.
