DIY oil change with Mobil 1 oil filter

So I am getting conflicting information about what Mobil 1 filter to use on my 2013 SL550. The Mobil site says one number but every parts store I check says that isn't correct???

Just wondering for those of you that have done your own oil change with a Mobil 1 filter what is the correct part number?? Also where did you buy it at?

Thanks so much!!

Welcome,
Congratulations, the SL is a great car.
Most folks use Mobil 1 oil but MANN and Hengst are considered OEM for filters.

See below, Factory filter, MANN and Hengst.

Also much easier to suck the oil out vs jacking up the car. But always nice idea to get under a new car.

Good Luck

I guess it depends on your ramp system, but using a MityVac is so quick, it’s hard to beat.
something like this, if you have a compressor.

Amazon Amazon

But as mentioned, always nice to get under new (to you) car….

Good Luck

^This

For M276 for example, WIS actually calls for top extraction for some models.

I use a lift and drain it, old school. A thorough annual inspection of the undercarriage is a good thing.

Although I do that as well, as you said, to check for leaks if any but I do that every other change instead. So top then next time bottom.

With regard to filters, I only use Purflux, which is the OE for Mercedes filters.

Welcome back…
Purflux is good too.
OP has 2013 M278, don’t believe that filter will fit

I buy everything at the Mercedes-Benz dealership. This includes any available parts, batteries, oil(s) and filters. If it's in a Mercedes-Benz package, I want it. But that's just me.

Don't forget to also get the Mercedes branded windshield wash fluid and tire air.

Never a bad idea in today’s “knockoff” world. Incredibly, fake parts are an issue….

Just buy directly from mbparts.mbusa.com might be cheaper too.
