SL/R231: Are the pre-facelift SL63 seats the same as the SL550?

Quickly looking through the EPC, the seats DO appear to share the same electronics. (As long as both seats have same options (active seats, heaters etc..)
If you’re swapping the whole seat out, you’ll need to run adaptation. Which is where the firmware on some of the electronic modules might show up.
I would dig through the EPC or this site below and double check. You can double check years compatible by searching for the part number on google.

If you’re still hanging on to your old seats you could always swap modules out, but I think you should be OK.
Good Luck!

I think finding the issue, will be potentially be more cost effective, than throwing parts at the car. Definitely check the basics first. Fuses, wiring, pump etc…
Finding exact match for the seats (with same options) will be another challenge. If your seats are in good shape, then I would definitely try to find the issue.
If your existing seats covers are damaged, then that would be a good time to find another seat to swap. If you do find another seat, you can probably code the car for different options or swap covers.
Is it both seats with massage failing or is it just one? Mileage?
Good Luck
