SL/R107: vent/manifold stuck on heat

mercedes 1980 450sl
vent/manifold stuck on heat
this 1980 450sl won't open the vents to blow cold air. i know the ac is working. it's just that when i switched to defrost/heat, the vents or manifolds are stuck in that position. does anyone have a clue on how to get these working?

Sounds like the typical CC Servo Unit failure. This is a well documented design flaw that is prone to periodic and repeated failures. There are fixes, start with this link...

(actually, go through this site in detail, lots of 107 info)
