New Thread - 380sl won't start
Sorry to repeat myself. I thought I would redirect this issue to a new thread that correctly identifies what I could use help on.
OK, so i downloaded the START/COLD START page from the online manual. It shows the signal path going from the ignition switch to the "Starter Lockout/Backup Light Switch", then to the solenoid. My question is, where the heck is this lockout switch? I replaced the starter, and may have disturbed a connection somewhere, but can't figure out where this switch is. I already pulled the cover off the console, but this switch is not there! I can start the car with a jumper from the positive lead to the purple wire on the terminal block on the passenger side inner fender well, but just not getting +12vdc to this point from the ignition circuit. The diagram indicates C146 going to and from this switch, so I am assuming there is a connector somewhere. Anybody have any experience with this?

Found the switch!
I found a blog where someone with a C280 was having a similar problem and the respondents suggested he look for the switdh on the driver's side of the transmission. Hoping that MB's auto trannies were consistent, I removed the skid plate under the trans and located the thing. I confirmed it is bad (PN #0005454906) and have jumped the leads temporarily until I locate a replacement switch (the original is riveted together, so repairing it is unlikely).
