Dash Lights 83' 380SL
Hi, new to the forum, new owner of a 83' 380SL.
I'm having an issue where none of the instrument cluster lights or button lights in the console are working. None of the lights are responding to the dimmer, so I'm assuming the rheostat needs to be replaced or cleaned. Is there any reason to think this could be anything else? Thanks for the feedback.

try spraying a little contact cleaner on it
I have had the same problem with my 75 230 - pulled the rheostat out, shook it a bit and sprayed some contact cleaner over it, and they worked - replaced rheostat and have had no problems since

Check all the lights are working before re-installing the dash panel
+ it is a good idea to fit led bulbs to the indicator lights on the panel.
If the clock is not working it is an EZ fix by replacing the clock's 2 x 100 micro farad capacitors while you have everything out on the bench [cost <$1].
