I have a 1987 Mercedes 560SL, I just purchased it and im having trouble starting it....I try to start it and it turns over several times will not start, then when I give it some gas to maybe idle at 2000, it starts and runs as long as I have my foot on the gas..just as soon as I let off the gas it immediately dies. everytime now, it does that, Once I get it to Idle, then I put it into reverse, and give it some gas it doesn't want to move, then I move the shifter down and up then it goes into the gear I want. Once I get it into gear and it goes, It's just fine after that I can drive anywhere without problem until I shut it off. Then I can immediately try to start it again and the same thing happens all over again...? Thanks for any help.

I forgot to mention once I get it started and it runs it surges about 500 RPM, up and down.
