My lovely 560SL needs to have the heads rebuilt. I'm tired of the rear passenger side drip. This is a pretty typical problem but I've decided to have the work done over the winter. Doing the heads with new springs, valves and guides, plus new timing chains and guides is generally a $6,000 or so job. While they're in there, I've decided to get a few other things updated.

1. new 822 (24/25) cams from Mike Clare
2. new stainless tri-ys and downpipes from Elbe Engineering
3. replace the rear end (2.47) with a 2.82 AMG W126 210mm rear end
4. replace the open diff in that rear end with a Quaife QDF5V LSD from Kevin Bird Garage LTD

I know that one of the stumbling blocks with the M117 is air flow so I'm toying with the idea of opening up the plenum to alleviate the restriction. We'll see once they get in there. Should be fun!
