Fuel pump not pumping?

I purchased a 1976 450SL and knowing that it sat for some time I removed the fuel tank and had it cleaned. I replaced the fuel pump, filter and accumulator. After filling the tank with some gas I find it will not pump gas. The fuel pump shudders one time when the key is turned on and that's it. I want to run the pump to clear the fuel line but it does not pump.

Any ideas?

They only run a short time till engine starts ,if no start it switches off . ..If its been sitting i would check all the fuses clean and refit .

Might be fuelpump relay see pcture . But first is to check the fuel pump fuse . Look at your fuse chart i can see number 14 fuse but your model 450SLfuel pump .

Could be the fuel line is plugged hard. If the fuel can't flow, it will stop the pump. Disconnect both ends of the fuel line and try blowing compressed air through it. Start out with low pressure.
