Renntech or Kleeman who would you use?

I am thinking of putting a supercharger on my Sl500. I live in Tampa Florida, so Renntech would make shipping my car easier.
Who would you guys recommend? I have read lots of good things about the Kleeman supercharger...

There is a Kleemann authorized dealer in Tampa. C2 Designs, I believe they just moved to a new facility. You can ask your dealer in Tampa about them. Chris Chapas is the man to ask over there [C2].

c2d@verizon.net - Let him know Dinko sent you.

An SL55 would cost me $43000 more than my car....
A SC installed will cost $12-15k, big brake kit $2900, exhaust $800 ..

So for around 18k I can have the same performance as 55.

Yes I wont get my money back for the upgrades but I will get back half or better when I sell the car. I always return my cars to stock when I trade or sell them and ebay all the upgrades.
I had just over 20K in my G35 and sold all the parts for $15k.. yeah I lost 5k but I look at the loss as the price you pay for fun.

i like kleemann since they have over 20 years of experience, especially with supercharging. that said, i've heard nothing but good reviews about renntech. though i believe more people opt for kleemann when supercharging. and kleemann has other components designed to complement the supercharger. renntech offers intercooler, i'm not sure about kleemann, but they offer things usch as headers, blower grind cams, and valve springs, designed for the blower. if i'm not mistaken, i believe it is slightly cheaper as well. either company is quality tho

At this time, you can easily get $10k off MSRP on a brand new 05 SL55. Some of the memebrs are right when they say to opt in for the SL55. Don't forget about your warranty! My suggestion is to go for a slightly used SL55, $20k and a SL500 can get you far enough.

Kleemann can offer you full warranty on all your mods. Just like a MB warranty would. Renntech will not.

The warranty is not free but if you are installing a SC to a NA motor the option is available.

Your car will be much faster once the performance mods are installed versus the stock SL55.

Hope this helps

Renntech will warrant the mods themselves but not the car/engine itself... 04E55 AMG correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you have to pay extra for Kleemann to warranty the mods and the car/engine.

Also, your new car may be faster but I wouldn't say by much. The SL65 is only slightly faster than the SL55... and I don't think you can mod a SL500 to compete w/ that beast while staying street legal.

Ian,

You are correct. The complete A-Z warranty on the car would cost extra. The warranty on the mod portion would be the same with both tuners. What is scary is that modded sedan competes with the 65's.

Go Kleemann SL50K will not be faster then Sl55...it will have around 490-500HP...same as SL...I think its still be a bit slower like 0.1-0.2 secs to 62...

For those money SC is the best, if are willin g to spend more,t then you can enlarge your 5000 motor to 5500 and then SC then youd have 550 and if more tuning like headers and CAMS then 620...

I have decided to go with Kleemann. I've read nothing but positive things about both RennTech and Kleemann.
