New SL63 AMG
I'm still not sure I like the new styling, but I might have just changed my mind about signing up for a new model. I can't believe that MB is putting Race Start on cars coming to the US. I was hyped up on the Ferrari's launch control until my dealer said "no" for the U.S. market.

That really looks like a sweet system. I'm interested to see how much faster the car is tested 0-60 with the loss of wheel spin + super fast shifts. It almost makes drag racing at a traffic light idiot proof.
I hope they don't bail out on the US market with this feature!!!

IMO, RaceStart has zero value....never bothered w/max perf stoplt launches on any car....kinda boring straight-line stuff that chews up tires/drivetrain and attracts too much "trying too hard" negative attention (downright embarrassing in jaded areas where lots of <40yo guys can afford any car they want anyway)...
What intrigues me more re: SL63 030 is this MCT box's shiftspeeds/smoothness/downshift blips....and precision/stability of this SL's steering/brakes/chassis vs bumpy mtn twisties....
And, in a straight-line, far more interested in car's effortless tq delivery in mid-range accel on a fast, open fwy (not city streets)....balanced vs traction on wet/imperfect pavement (unlike 65)....and elegant yet intimidating exhaust note music (at any speed)....
