Exhaust Mount Pin Broke off, dealer wants to replace ENTIRE exhaust.
Yesterday I noticed my exhaust pipes were significantly lower than usual on the left side of my car. On inspection I notice that a 4" metal pin that is spot-welded to the exhaust has broken off. This pin apparently holds the back of the exhaust in place, and has broken at the weld points.
I bring it in to ASC in Arlington, VA and they claim the entire exhaust needs to be replaced ($1850.00). They did say the exhaust is otherwise in perfect condition. Does ANYONE think their advise is the right course of action? Is there a place where we can rate these service advisers? |
Sounds like BS to me, I would take it to a local reputable exhaust shop, have them fix it. Even a shop like Midas should work fine, just make sure you watch them do EVERYTHING.

Midas fixed it for $189.

Next time try a different dealer. I can't believe they wouldn't just weld a new exhaust hanger into place. What crooks. Let MBUSA know about this.

even the $189 at midas was expensive for a simple weld job
