Was there a change going from 2006 to 2007 for SL?
Just asking. Looking into the R230 and noticed that 2006 is much less than 2007 and was wondering if there were any design / option differences between the years. TIA

The 550 badge, 80 more hp, 3 bar grill, front lower bumper styling on the non amg, different interior color combos, and wheels.
Mostly minor cosmetic changes with the big story being the 550 motor.

revised door sill decoration
6 pot instead of 8 pot front calipers
revised trunk cover design
I also think the phone became standard.
is it worth the premium?

Yes...
... albeit, this being an AMG forum, some might not apply for the non AMG, the transmission of course available on the 63 only. I got this list from an '07 SL brochure.
