MY Build !! of the old SL55
Well I can do it too.
Everybody else is building one, so heres my version. I dont want anything radical, but theres lots of little changes that can make a car unique.
I found this 03 last Oct with 21Kmi. Pretty clean and no mods.
I started with the SL65 front bumper. Check this:

It was a junk yard bumper. All I had to buy was the 5 mesh grilles, and the fog lights.
I bought the 20" Brabus monoblock 2 pc wheels, all chrome, and painted the centers brilliant silver. I also had the spacers and lugs chromed.
Lowering links
I got clear side markers and chrome/coated turn signal bulbs to make a bright, shiny front end look. No yellow for me.
I did the hood and side fins with Black Chrome paint, and the grille:

And recently the 3 slat grille. And I think it is a big accent:

Also found a set of 08 tail lights and clear brake light on ebay. This adds to the detail on the rear. All I need now is a 63 spoiler.
I swapped the silver console trim for a hella expensive carbon fiber set from Performance Products. Now I need a carbon trimmed wheel with padels.
And I just got a set of AMG aluminium pedals from JBSPEED on this site. Really good set for $90. I was after the Brabus, but when I saw the AMG, I had to have those.
And I modified the Command, to just get some more sources. I needed dvd and sirius.

So thats it. Maybe Ill get into the engine next. As for now, Im enjoying it and getting plenty of looks. So I guess its worth it.

Nice upgrades and photos!
Did you have any trouble getting the 3-slat grille to fit? I heard it takes some finessing to get it attached right.
I'm going to be upgrading my COMAND system soon, but I think I'm going to go with a replacement head unit because the screen is so tiny. The stock nav sucks big time.
