New Chrysler Extended Warranty Plan Provider
There has been a lot of discussion regarding the Chrysler extended warranty plan. As a previous purchaser of two warranties from Chrysler I received an email from the Harold Zeigler Automotive Group who is selling Chrysler factory plans that cover all Merc's (including my CLKBS) and other cars for up to 60% off what a dealer will charge you. You don't have to visit the dealership or have your car inspected to receive an online quote. In my case I chose a 5 year, $100 deductible, 12K mile per year, full coverage plan for $1,750. The new car plan from Merc that I recently received (2 years, 75K miles) was $5,200. The web site is www.ChryslerFactoryPlans.Com. Fill out the info they ask for and you'll get a return online quote with options almost immediately.
I'm not affiliated or associated with them, just passing this along. Is this too good to be true?

Interesting... thanks for posting this info and link.
I have an '04 SL55, 46K miles, out of warranty, and it looks like a "Used Maximum Care" 5/70K/100 plan would run me about $3K. I have to have my car inspected and a "Used Vehicle Inspection Form" completed by a local Chrysler dealer.
My question is, how well do the MBZ dealers work with the Chrysler warranty people? The fine print says that the MBZ dealer performing the service needs to get authorization before any warranty work can begin. I recently had trouble getting my '03 Infiniti FX45 serviced at the Infiniti dealer because my aftermarket warranty people complained that the hourly rate the dealer was trying to charge was too high.
I assume MBZ and Chrysler work a little better together, given their history. Has anyone had any bad experiences between their local MBZ dealer and the Chrysler warranty people?
Thanks!

I have a Daimler Chrysler extended warranty for my SL55 and the dealer has had no problems getting claims approved. My SA says they are one of the easiest to work with.

SJ did you buy that coverage from Michael Chase?.He is part of that Ziegler group. He seems like a decent guy.I spoke with him in regards to my SL 55 and he is suppose to send me the pricing and coverages info.
Whatever anyone does please dont buy an Easy Care warranty they do not cover the very expense parts on a 55 , like the top or ABC struts or motors.
Michael Chases product seems to be the best coverage and he seems fair because most of his business he told me comes from this site and word of mouth.

I haven't purchased a plan yet, would like to do so next week after calling them and talking to them in person. I also want to call my local MBZ dealer (Beshoff Motors in San Jose) and make sure they have a good relationship with the Chrysler warranty folks.
I think the "Used Maximum Care" plan is the one I'll go for... $600 a year seams reasonable.

OK, I called my local dealer and he never heard of the Zeigler Automotive Group... he cautioned me to be careful given Chrysler's current financial status.
Has anyone actually used their warranty coverage purchased through these guys yet? Any problems with your dealer working with them to get payment, etc?
Thanks!

When was the last time somebody contacted Michael? I've left a voicemail and haven't heard back, and I sent an email to the address on their website and it bounced.

Hey, no worries... Mike just called me back. A real nice guy. Their email server had a few problems due to the long weekend. Anyway, he worked out a quote for me and it looks like a great deal. Since my car is out of warranty, I just need to get a quick inspection done at my local dealer, and send him the results. Going to go for the 5 yr / 70k mile / $100 deductible plan.

My car is already out of warranty, so the "Used Maximum Care" warranty begins on the date I sign up, through July of 2014 or until I reach 117K miles (my current 47K miles + 70K), which ever comes first.
Here is a link to the .pdf explaining the plan's coverage:

I got my Chrystler service contract for my SL500 from Mike Case; but when I tried to get one for my SL55 from him I called and left messages and sent emails but no reply??? What contact info (number and email) did you use? He seems like a nice guy; I'd like to contact him if I have any questions etc...
I eventually went direct and got a 5yr/70K plan from a service rep named Todd directly from CSC via phone.

I just got a quote from ChryslerFactoryPlans for my '03 SL55 and it was $2335 for 4 years. Less than $600 a year seems pretty reasonable to me, but I just need to know if this warranty plan will be honored by all MB dealers.

Well, I'm all signed up... my local MBZ dealer did the inspection and charged 1 hr of labor, $160. Submitted the inspection form to Mike and paid him... warranty is in place as of today. Should get some more formal paperwork back from the service plan people in 3 or 4 weeks. yay!

So, how does it work? You take your car to a local MB dealer, have them inspect it and if everything checks out then ChryslerFactoryPlans will accept your submission? Do you just tell your MB dealer that you're having the car inspected so it's eligible for an extended warranty and did your dealer verify that they'll accept that 3rd party warranty for all claims?
Thanks for all your input so far as it has really helped me in the decision making process.

Yup, that's pretty much it.
In the future when the dealer needs to do repair, they first call the warranty provider to get authorization for the repair. They then perform the service, collect the deductible from you (either $100 or $200 depending on the plan you selected), and the balance is paid via credit card by the warranty company.

I would suggest you check with the sevice department at your dealership. I called Hendrick Mercedes (used to be Beck Mercedes) here is Charlotte and they do NOT accept any aftermarket warranty except the "Hendrick Auto Guard" warranty. I was told if I come in with any other warranty I would have to pay the bill and seek reimbursement from whatever warranty company I'd have. OTOH, MB of South Charlotte sells a JM&A warranty and suggested I check with the service department as to whether or not they'll deal with a warranty company they do not sell on site. I've never bought an aftermarket warranty and am somewhat concerned about buying something that is worthless at my local dealerships...... Thoughts?

Finalized the warranty on my 55 today with Michael Case. I got the Maximum care with 70 miles and 100 deduct. We will see. From all I have read Michael seems to sell a decent warranty verses Fedelity which was $6000 and Easy care which wouldn't cover major components such as the ABC and top motors.
I personally have found this forum to have decent information in regards to this important topic, but we all must do our own homework .

My dealership (1.5 hours down I-77 South from you) is this way. They file the claim and take my CC for payment. Then refund my CC when Chrysler pays them minus whatever Chrysler did not pay. They usually let me keep the loaner until Chrysler pays them.
Hope that helps.
