Sorry to hear about your trouble at the track. What was your 60' time on the 11.03 run?

I'm betting if you used some 16"-17" Drag whls/tires vs stk 18"s you'd lower rotational mass & increase rotational TQ & increase Trap speeds while still lowering ET.

Looking @ your (2) BEST slips shows you increased Trap speed nearly 1 mph w/slightly lower 1/4 ET & lower 60'

Good example: new Z06 ZR1 was recently run @ your same MIR bone stock on 20" rear whls then on 18" drag setup...

The first stock Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 finally made it into the 10’s this past weekend at a private drag strip rental at Maryland International Raceway. With some great weather and a density altitude (DA) of -350 feet, this bone stock ZR1, including stock tires ran an impressive 10.85 @ 129.89 MPH with Racerns driving the car. Later on during the day a set of 18″ rear wheels with drag radials were installed on the ZR1 and it ran a 10.73 @ 132.46 MPH
Lowered ET yet increased Traps nearly (3) mph even tho 60' was nearly same on both setups

...
+1

I also picked up about 3mph of trap speed running lightweight wheels and drag radials compared to my regular wheels and tires.

John what lightweight wheels and drag radials did you use? did you just get a pair of light wheels and DRs for the rear and use stock wheels and tires up front? What size rear wheels and tires (brand and size) do you find work well on our cars?

thanks man...hope you make it out on Dec 5th...would love to see you run and meet ya!

Ohh man sorry about that... But I would love to know what the weak spot on the SL is?

I posted a response over here: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...ml#post3794714

I'd love to get back to MIR on December 5. It's just so much harder these days now that I'm employed rather than working as a consultant. I'll have to see what I can do with my schedule.
