SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Best Looking Wheels for the R230 IMO
#126
Yes. I jacked the car up, put it on stands then meticulously painted anything that could be seen from with the naked eye. If you are **** you will take the calipers off. If you are like me you will paint what you can see with them left on the car. Not with my car during the holidays will post pics if I remember next week when I get back.

Hi, what kind of wheels for the 7th picture? The black wheels, those look good with the big lip. If you could please tell me the dimensions of the rim and the tire that would be great. I think they look hot. thanks

They are ccw's and are now on my sl600, 19x9.5 and 20x11, and are fairly light for their size

What's the offset??
And any fender roll or pull or any bodywork?
And since u mentioned it's a 600, do the 600s have a different set up from the 55s?
I mean as far wheels and tire fitment... Thanx.

pretty sure the wheel and tire sizes are the same on all r230's I didn't do any kind of body work, but they are pretty close, so if you are planning to tuck pretty hard, you may look into it. I'm not sure on offset and don't really have an easy way to find it, unless amgfan still has his original purchase info

New SL63 Wheels
Not sure is these qualify as best looking compared with some of the exotic prior postings, but I recently upgraded my SL600 from OEM spec 18's with OEM Pirelli Rosso rubber to 2010 SL63 19's with OEM sized Michelin PS2's, 255/35/19 front, 285/30/19 rear. Also did new TPMS sensors through Tire Rack which work perfectly.
I chose to go with 19 over 20 to retain ride quality and longevity over potholes etc, and I also like retaining the OEM AMG offsets. This combo is perfect for this car...for my needs anyway. Like my E63, going with PS2's is a huge improvement over the OEM spec tires in every way, and these wheels look quite nice IMO. Handling, steering precision, straight line traction are all noticably improved.
Very pleased with the outcome. A few pics enclosed.

RE: TPMS
For TPMS Tire Rack sold me a complete set of OEM Beru 315 Hz sensors, exactly what the car came with from the Bremen factory. The car learned the new sensors within 5 minutes of driving, and I now have sensors with new batteries.....they are supposed to last 6 - 8 years. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.
She goes into the shop Wednesday for a Quaife......much looking forward to seeing how much traction improvement that will yield.
