SL55 AMG Exhaust Mods Continued..... X Pipe added, mufflers removed for straight pipe
Just added an X pipe added in the centre section and removed the rear mufflers for straight pipe, pictures as follows (secondary cats/resonator boxes have already been removed):
All I have left to do is replace the primary cats with some sports cats and get a free flowing custom manifold (headers) made. We will them make up some more stainless pipe to connect the centre section to where the mufflers used to be so the entire system will be stainless.
As well as the obvious performance and sound gains its also reduced a bit of weight. The centre section is bloody heavy, I struggle to lift it by myself. I would like to think we've shed at least 30kg with all the work thus far? God knows but it definitely feels lighter.
After the exhaust work I will be adding smaller pulley, better charge cooler, Johnson pump, Quaife LSD etc
