Anyone interested in trading their SL63 or 2009+ SL65 for a GTR? :)
I've owned three SL55's over the last three years. This year I decided to try something different and bought a Nissan GTR. While it is stupidly fast with the upgrades, I find myself missing being able to put the top down on a nice day. Figured I would post this here just in case someone was looking to get out of their SL and into something a bit different or faster
It's a 2009 GTR with 30,000 miles and is located in Pittsburgh, PA. It has a Nissan factory extended warranty until December 2013.
MODIFICATIONS
- Cobb Accessport 006
- Amuse R1 Titanium Extra STTI Exhaust 80mm exhaust
- Amuse R1 Titanium mid-pipe with high flow cats and resonator
- GTC cast downpipes
- 3" Gotboost intakes with green filters
- 750CC Deatschwerks injectors
- 2012 turbo inlets
- GTC 18 PSI tune
- Endless brake pads
- Niche Targa wheels 20x10 and 20x10.5
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires 285/35/20XL and 295/35/20XL
- Motorsport Tech spacers
- 35% 3M tint

Pittsburgh, eh? I thought I recognized the familiar hilly landscape. You ever go to their local Cars and Coffee events? I know there are 2 or 3 guys with GTRs posting on their forum.

Not a huge fan of the GTR in silver, but that one looks especially clean. GLWS, you shouldn't have any problem selling her outright, and finding an SL of your choosing.

Thanks everyone... Maintenance isn't too bad, paid $800 for the brake pads and everything else was up to date whenever I bought the car. I bought 10 quarts of the trans fluid and 3 quarts of the diff fluid for $500 and was going to change it myself in six thousand miles. It only takes 5 quarts of engine oil compared to the 9 quarts which the SL55 use to take so that's nice
I found a 2009 SL63 IWC edition that I am drooling over right now but they are asking too much for it. Are there any SL63 IWC owners on this forum? I read that the paint is very difficult to keep up with on that car since you can't polish it?
Bob, I was unaware that there were any local C&C events. Where are they held?

Their meets are every other Saturday at Echo restaurant right off of I-79 in the North Hills. Information can be found under the "Events and Gatherings" link. Tomorrow is their next meet. Baring anything coming up, I will be there for a few hours.

A big thing to remember is your going to pay nearly double buying new
between a SL63 and the GTR. If you want speed, then the GTR is almost
perfect, but in my opinion the shape is plain ugly, although your car is
immaculate. But before you jump in to a Porsche, a new 63 after being
tweaked will give you GTR speed, more comfort good looks, and of course
roof down. If you want to keep costs down a 2008 SL65 with a re map is a beast you can pick up for around 45-50k,
and I believe the SL55 can also be tweaked. Nothing is going to give you
4 wheel grip though, heh but who wants that when the sun is up and the roof
is down.

i was looking for a gtr next and was going to put mine up for trade for one.
comes with spare motor too! here is build thread- https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...ld-thread.html
here is pic thread. car literally just finished and just did oil and trans flush. not many finer- https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...pics-done.html

lol. kind of funny as this was the only car i was going to be willing to trade for. would be kind of sad to get hardly any wheel time on the sl, but a full gtr build sounds like a blast!
