Water Leak

I noticed after a heavy rain shower last night the carpet in my 2004 SL55 AMG behind the drivers (RHD) seat was wet and water droplets were coming in from the rear quarter panel roof area where the hinge is. All the seals were replaced a couple of years ago so the previous owner told me and there are no water leaks anywhere else the boot is bone dry. Has anybody any ideas as to point me in the right direction to curing this. Thanks

You should try to identify the exact location with a hose.

One thing to check out is that the double backed adhesive strip that attaches the seals to the paint degrades over time. I injected 3M black weatherstrip adhesive into the all the voids and it solved a small leak I had into the driver side of the trunk. Be sure to fully clean all the dirt out of the void. My car is never in the rain or left outside so the leak was an annoyance when I washed the car.

Has this worked for anyone?

My seals look/feel like they are in great shape...I just had the first slight drips after washing the car.
