SL55 Values- What are they worth?
Looking at some cars, some modded, others not. Prices are all over the place. What does everyone think about the value of these cars?
My latest is an 05 SL55 good colors, moat options, mileage around 45K, orig owner. Mods- wheels, tune, etc. What is this car worth?

If you're trying to sell, nowhere near as much as you'd like. If you're trying to buy, more than you want to pay.
I just sold a 2008 SL55 for $36,000 - that's a lot less than I paid in late 2011 for a CPO car. It took more than six months to get an offer that good - most were high $20K to low $30K. This was for a car with 48K miles that was in excellent shape, had no mechanical problems and had B service done along with 50K service items done at 47K miles.
I know of one other person in the DC metro area who also had a hard time selling one.
Do I regret buying? No. Would I do it again? No.

If its modded, then Blue/Black book values don't apply. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it and whatever the owner is willing to sell it for. I don't know the specifics of your car, but if the wheels are high end, and it's a clean car I'd guess it'll sell for $27-30K.

Prices really seem to have fallen off a cliff lately.
These things are selling for high 20'd or low 30's. People are still asking $40K+

There is a big difference between asking and selling prices right now on the SL's. It tough to take that depreciation hit but these cars are just depreciating so quickly. It's good for the ones wanting to get in to the game on the cheap but horrible for current owners wanting to get rid on their cars.

It's almost 10 years old car with 80K approx. To buy this car I still need about $4K budget just in case ABC system fail. For 2005, I would not pay more than $27K today.

I bought my 2007 SL55 with 51k for 36K. It's in great shape with the exception of the motors mounts which were a little weak. I own a repair shop so we replaced them. Receipts showing all maintenance is up to date.
