2004 SL55 Envronmental Control Module - Dead
Searched the threads and cant find similar issue...
Problem: Heater and Air controls, including fan are dead ever since car was caught in a rain shower with top down. Dealer says I need a new "Climate Control Module". Wants $1500 to replace it. Looking to get one used and replace it myself. Questions: Where is this thing located? What fuze circuit is it on and what does this module look like? Thanks! Rob |
I believe they're talking about the climate control. It's the actual unit where you turn the knobs for the temperature. You should be able to find a used one on ebay for cheap and swap it out yourself easily or have an independent mechanic do it. It's a simple R&R job.

I really wasn't sure. I've been looking on Ebay and found one for like $500. One would think for a convertible they would put some form of protection in it. Do you know if anyone has ever taken it apart? I've got an old Air Force buddy who was an electronics repairman. I'm going to see if he can tear into it after it get it out and find rot cause and perhaps fix it. My uncle used to say "Can't break it any more than it already is, right?".
Thanks again. |
