I went by WI Simonson today where I bought my CLK Black. They have one that is black. Asking $50k over sticker, not surprising no buyers. One interesting thing, though... the gearshift says,

" USA - ONE of 175"

Guess being the first car built for the US means it's worth $50k more My first impression in person....not impressed. I especially didn't like the seats and the mounting locations for the rear dif coolers. That's right, the SL BS has TWO seperate diff coolers. They offered me a test drive but I said no thanks.
I'll post some pics later.

I took mine for a spin today and I don't think I've ever felt so good driving a car (except for the one I drove at Laguna Seca). And "One of 175" on the gearshift doesn't mean that it's the first because mine says the same thing, they all do. It just means that it's 1 out of 175 total. So the 50k over sticker is probably just the dealership trying to make extra money.

Here are some pics of my Black as promised. I had a professional photographer doing a photoshoot for some of the cars so I had to move them around and line them up on the street. These are some pics I took from my blackberry. Enjoy! (Btw the black ferrari in the last pic is my replacement for the red one I had)

1) No way in hell did they offer you a test driveThey do not offer test drives on these high end auto's unless you're Donald Trump..

2) In your BlkSeries story world, who the hell would turn down a "test drive" in this car

20+ to list......
Looks like the diff coolers and pump are after thoughts, seats are not butt ugly, but not my cup of tea, and I'm surprised to see my SLK's steering wheel is shared with the Black Series. With that being said, the car is wide and low, and it's quite stunning to look at.

Almost. I would keep going but unfortunately I don't have much space left in the driveway. Probably only for 1 or 2 more cars. Better make it count

Considering I have bought 3 cars from them plus my CLK BS and they don't have a buyer I didn't find it odd. I only stopped by to check it out quickly and had no intention on purchasing it. The drive I was offered was "a quick spin around the block." The same that was I offered and I took when I knew I was buying my CLK BS.

I always wondered who the jerks are that go to dealerships and drive something they know they are not going to buy. Thanks for clearling that up for me.

I was SHOCKED when I saw how the dif coolers were mounted. They are going to get destroyed with gravel and debris.

It's NOT the same thing when they know you're going to actually buy itNOR did you add lame caveat "a quick spin around the block."

You should shut it, & admit you're full of

Why is it so improbable that they offered a test drive? If the dealer knows you can afford it and you show some interest they will more often than not let you drive the car. Now if you are just some guy off the street that's upside down in his current car then I can see why they might not.

I didn't think I had to. Believe whatever you like but I have no reason to lie, nor do I need to qualify every statement I make for idiots like you.

LOL - you really show your ignorance with this statement....Tell me something; if you KNOW you are going to buy a car, do you call the dealer ahead of time and TELL THEM THAT before you even get there?? How would "they know" what I am thinking ?? I never told them I was 100% for sure going to buy my CLK Black - I kept my intentions to myself to use while negotiating - not doing so would only be shooting myself in the foot and limiting my options. Clearly, you’re not that bright.

It depends if the dealership knows you. Like LZH, I'm not big on test drives either. I never test drove any of the cars that I bought. But if I would be in the market for an SL65 BS, and my dealer has an unsold unit, they would offer me a test drive. Not because they are such nice guys, but because they know that I have the financial means to buy it.

Exactly, and thank you....I wasn't going to say what you did in bold above simply becasue (as previously mentioned), I really didn't think I had to. Kind of goes without saying... considering when I bought my CLK BS I gave the guy a blank check WHILE we went for a quick "spin around the block". He wanted me to literally go around the block and said if I wanted to drive it further I needed to write a check. So, I handed him a signed blank check and did a burnout.

Funny how your post changed from them just offering you a "test-drive" ONLY because you were a past customer& they knew you were a man of means lol...Now the truth comes out that you had to give the Salesman a Signed blank check for a "Full Test-Drive"

Here you go proving my original pointThey're not going to let you test drive these types of high-end auto's w/out showing you had serious intent of purchasing it, or being a well known "A-List" celebrity client...

Yes you're obviously "the supreme negotiator"

Everytime you flap your trap you contradict yourself further, beyond proving my earlier posts, YOU freely admit needing to give the salesman a blank check in order
for a quick "spin around the block". He wanted me to literally go around the block and said if I wanted to drive it further I needed to write a check.
then signing it if you wanted to take a complete "Test-Drive" like you initially claimed in your BS SL65 fabled post

Did you say "No thanks to a test drive" because you didn't have another blank check or $320k in the bank to cover it in order to get behind the wheel?

Do you think you might've given the Salesman a slight clue as to what you were thinking? After you gave him a signed blank check to go on a full "Test-Drive"

Once again "Very shrewd negotiating" Give them a Signed blank check while on the "Test-Drive"

Calm down dude. You really have no point other than you don't believe me and I really can't help you with that nor do I feel the need to
address your incoherent drivel.
