will clk radio work in slk?

Does anyone know if a clk 2002 radio model #BE3302 will work in a 2001 slk?

The very new Mercedes radios are shaped differently but if the radio is the standard rectangle shape from the late 90s to early 2000s, it will fit fine. The plugs are the same in the back. The only difference may be the operation of the fader from front to back. I noticed that the SLK radio doesn't have the front to back fader but the CLK may. I put an SLK stereo in my E-Class for a while and noticed the lack of this feature. You will have to see if the CLK radio has it.

I gave this radio to a slk friend and he said that it does not turn off when the car is off and the lights on display do not work. I think that the computer does not recognize the radio correctly?? maybe?

It sounds like a couple of the wires are crossed in the connector in the back of the stereo. There are separate power leads for ilumination and operation and a signal wire to detect if the key switch is on. Becker's web page has the pin out for the connection to the back of the stereo.

This is a BE3309.

This site has some info on the OEM stereos. They say that the BE3302 and BE3309 are not interchangable.
