pulls to either side!

well guys, i have a 98 slk 230, when driving all is fine, when braking all is fine, but when i happen to brake while driving over slightly uneven surfaces on the road it pulls to either side excessively, to the point to which if i dont hold the wheel frimly, it would drive into the other lane, this is definatly not normal.
in th last 6 months i have cganged the pads and rotors, and had it aligned to no avail. so what could it be???? tie rods, inner?outer?wheel bearings? hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllp ppppppppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool Same issue

My '98 does the same on the highly crowned roads around New England and according to past threads it's related to the geometery of the suspension. One simple ways to improve the situation is to increase the tire pressure on the front. I have my front pressure at 33 psi and rear at 35psi and it is a litle better. Also, threads have recommended different tires, I still have the Michelin Pilots, same as the original, but plan to change next spring and I'm considering AVON tires, hopefully this will reduce the pulling.

I experiance the same thing on New England roads, especially when my tire pressure is below 35psi. It only happens with my summer tires: Pirrelli Pzeros on 17" AMG wheel. I never noticed it on my snow tires: Blizzaks on 16" stock wheels.
The other thing that drives me nuts is the black crack repair sealant they use on the roads, with my summer tires, I can get pulled in the direction the sealant is going. I notice tis on Rt6 in R.I. going to CT.

55 is way to high. That is the pressure you can put in the tyre to hold its max rated load. 33 front 35 rear is about right.

Mine pulls the same way. Others have similar occurences. Just there to keep you awake

I can relate to the Rt 6 thing. I often drive from central CT to Cape Cod along RT 6.
