'99 SLK 230
transmission swap/change
I have an automatic tranny in my '99 230. Is it possible to change this out to a manual? if so, what would be your estimate on cost? I like the car, but the auto kills me, i'd much prefer stick.

If you wanted a manual transmission, why did you buy an automatic? You would have to add a clutch pedal, different electronics, and many other parts in addition to a transmission. It would be cheaper to trade for another car.

i used to swap ford aod's(auto) for t5's(manuals) in mustangs
and it can be a PITA!!

expect to drop at least $6,000 for the whole swap, maybe even more. Your better off buying a new Crossfire with the 6speed for $16,000. Speed Inovations is in the works on a turbo kit for this car, so there will be more fun to come in the next few months.
