Now that's more like it!

If these pictures represent the new SLK, it will be an instant hit, and a worthy replacement for the R170. Gorgeous and eminently "with it"!
Based on these pics, I'd order it without hesitation, as opposed to other "undisguised" or "official" pics like the ones that appeared in AutoWeek recently, which do NOT make me want to replace my 2001 SLK 320.

It might just be me, but I'm not too sure about te front. It seems to be wierdly curved for my taste. But I like the back. I wonder if this is what the car will really look like...

re: New SLK pics

Guys, quit passing off wrong pics. This blue thing posted looks nothing like the test car spied being driven around. I'll hunt for those pics and post them here - just give me a moment. Oops, looks like I am having some trouble posting the images at this time. Look up the pics at autoweek.com - you'll see what I mean. This looks nothing like the spy shot.

Perhaps some of us knew JCM5 found wouldn't be the true represent but it sure looks sharper than what we saw lately.

I like this one too…

VivianLove, looking at your posted picture it sure looks a lot like the spy shot if you peel away the camouflage. Look at the profile of both cars and the front lower bumper and I think you, VivianLove, have the best pic of the real thing IMHO (are you sure that is not the real deal by the way - where is the pic from I wonder?)

The thing I don't like about the SLK is that it looks too much like a woman's car, small and cute.

The thing about a car that looks like a woman's car is that an eminently secure and confident man can buy it too :o

This isn't an issue of whether or not a man can buy the SLK. Regardless of how "secure" a man is, it still doesn't change the fact that the SLK looks like it was made for a woman. I can't stand the sight of tall guys trying to squeez into the SLK. I mean, why sacrifice comfort just so you can say "I drive a convertible benz"?
