SLK 200 R171 cockpit electronics fail
After starting, the instrument panel, indicators, radio, roof, etc electronics fail. The inside of the car is dead, but the engine seems fine.
Fisrt time, I did not notice, until I got to the first stop and had to use my indicator to turn. It was dead. Not knowing what was wrong, I drove until I got to work. Switched off the car end switched it on again. The problem disappeared. This has been happening a few times now, but it is happening more frequently. It did this 3 times since yesterday. I have a gut feel it is the battery that is on its way out (10 years old) not giving enough current after starting. Has anyone had same issues ?

Out Of Control!!
Sounds like you either have a faulty ignition switch or a front SAM---the quick way to solve the problem is get the car diagnosed by someone with factory or equal soft ware---if you see sheep\goats grazing out back---move on!!----or sell the car!!
