Wooo hooo... factory pickup week after next!!!
its been built!!
my slk 350 in cubanite silver, with dusky red interior with dvd command, harmon kardon hifi 7g airscarf etc etc!
i've opted for factory collection which means a flight to err... somewhere in gemany (stuttgart, bremen??? not sure) and then a blast through olde europe to the channel, through the tunnel (i'm not getting sick on those damn ferries!!) and back to my garage in london. where it stays.
at last i'm the first kid on the block with a new toy!!!!
can't wait, can't wait, cant wait.....

taken delivery of slk350
what can i say...
except its even better than i imagined.... stunning car, the engine (even after only 500 miles) is super strong the suspension handles the UK's duff road surfaces better than anything i've driven recently (saloon or sports), the thing has more computing power than nasa (Bluetooth, MP3 player no fewer than 2 DVD players), the 7G shift never misses a trick and most importantly it's got that easy MB drivability, one arm on wheel, one arm on centre console, absolutely block-rocking harmon kardon system (with surround-sound).
even the air-scarf works perfectly.
well done MB!
ps they're selling at around £2-3k premium currently, so the little blighter won't cost me too much over the years (hopefully)
pps - the bremen factory trip was good as well, very interesting, well worth the effort.

350 SLK on waiting list, expected March '05
Collection costs...
I know I coudl ask my dealer... but how does it work, previously I have been told Merc pay for the flight and an overnight for 2, as it saves them importing.. is this how it works??!
Also I read MP3?? My dealer told me there was no MP3 option! I am guessing this is limited to Command and not on the Audio 20.
