Nice idea but the "huge" gaping holes on the hood brings it way down. 612 hp on a box car like that, would simply smoke the tires. Now an slkamg with a 55 amg engine in it might seem more of a fit. First of all, the hood may be left stock without mods and with that setup, the car would be a real sleeper! I guess overall, it really does'nt matter for as long as the rest of the world drives with a heavy "lead" right foot, oil sheiks could afford to put an apollo rocket in a yugo! Now that some serious hp to weight ratio! :y

You know those holes have a reason right? The engine cant fit with the stock hood. It would be nice if they covered it with Carbon fiber covers or something like that.

That's the reason why I said a 55 engine might fit better, without altering the hood.

My bad... didnt see that, but come on u would want a SLR engine over the 55. I mean i would be willing to have that opening in the hood just to have the SLR engine.

You can keep the SLR engine, I just want the SLR exhaust, my word, it sounds un-be-liev-able.

Its not a question whether one engine fits better than the other; obviously the 55 engine fits better coz you can buy an SLK 55. This guy would have bought an SLK 55 and asked to put the SLR engine instead

There have been a couple of other threads on this over the last few months....... many believe its a fake but the more recent pictures do look real.

You'd think with that much capital, you could'nt look for enough change under the car seat for a custom hood! :hammer: I mean a custom hood that looks good! :naughty:

That's exactly what I was thinking!

I think the hood looks quite rad actually, in an extreme sort of way, to really pimp out the fact that you have an SLR engine in there.

i guess after all the critiquing we did on the first batch of pics, someone decided to revise the hood cutouts. chk out the original pics of the same hood cutouts:

Attachment 386733

Attachment 386734

notice how the originals lacked that black perimeter seal/frame around the edge of the cutouts

Shinigami 06-01-2005 07:33 AM

Yeah, it seems like they added some rubber tubing/masking around it.

In one of the pics you can even see that the end points of the tubing are situated at the back because one end of the tubing is offset and not completely attached in place.
