MB’s
They made few of them. There are very few people who can work on them. They are a complex car. However, I would call your local dealer and maybe they can get you in touch with a SLR tech who can explain more.

1997 F50? I would love to hear the long story behind that since there are under 350 made.

Not as complex and difficult as other cars in that bracket.
Actually, SLR is much easier and simpler to work on then the CGT, I had both and SLR was much, much better in that regard, both in complexity, servicing and expense.
I wish I had kept the CGT though, worst decision I ever made when I sold it.
Btw, a very good idea the OP has regarding buying one, they are severely under priced on the market now.

The CGT would be a dream car to own but it is really to expensive to jump into. the SLR on the other hand is in a good spot for new buyers and I was looking at a few that are at a decent price. I grew up seeing the car on top gear and it has always been one of my dream cars. Really wanna ask around and do my research before I start getting in touch with dealers and going over to look at them.

Went down SLR McLaren Edition route with Renntech upgrading motor to ~700hp~700tq before sending back to MSO for transformation.

Rarely see 1 of the 25 editions up for sale. This car appears to be 13 of 25. Might interest you:
