Paint Protection Film on matte paint
I have a 2011 SLS coupe, and I'm considering paint protection film for the front of the car. I'm looking for general feedback about PPF, and also specifically; if anyone knows if you can even use PPF on matte paint?!? My car is Designo Magno Alanite Grey. Thanks for any feedback!!!!

Most major manufacturers have a version for matte paint. I would recommend you use a sample to see how the transition will look from the protected bumper to the other portions of the front end. It might be unnoticeable, but it might have a different sheen that is very noticeable. Most matte colored cars I've seen with ppf wrap the entire car, but I think that overkill for most needs.
I have most of my cars with ppf but honestly I keep going back and forth on whether it's worth it. Our new G63 we just got I decided to go with it, but mostly because my installer was offering a crazy promo. Next one (whenever that might be) won't be wrapped.

I'm with you. I wrapped the door sills so that when a guest takes a ride, I don't have to worry about scuff marks. The front got wrapped because I don't want to be concerned about some indecisive squirrel. The front pitting is only going to happen if you're traveling too close in traffic. Period. I didn't wrap my CLKBS except for the rear wheel wells because that's unavoidable.

Reach out to NewportSLS. He has your same paint and his car is completely cover in film. Looks perfect. I’ve seen it in person.

I have 2018 Edition 50, GTC Roadster with graphite grey magno. The issue is that the bodyshop told me that I have to paint the entire car to cover up 3 inch scratch and some rock chips. This color cannot be matched partially by painting panels or blending.
I decided to PPF the entire car and just enjoy the driving without inspecting for paint damage every time. You all know what I mean =D
