After 1 Year of Excellent SuperSprint SLS Racing Headers
A year has passed since I have installed the first racing headers for the M159 SLS AMG. It's truly the best exhaust system I have ever experienced in terms of sound, tone, power, and reliability. It is still THE BEST 4-1 LONG TUBE HEADERS for the SLS AMG. HANDS DOWN.
I want to thank the team from SuperSprint, especially Mr. Roberto Gardini and Mr. Alessandro Gilli for the top quality customer service.
This is a video uploaded by SuperSprint. Listen to that great Italian tone mixed with AMG power. The video this time has no music !

THAT is exactly how the car should sound. I cannot think of a single thing that would make it sound better other than maybe the whistle of a couple turbo's under the hood.

It is the racing headers manifold + x-pipe. The rear exhaust, which is after the x-pipe, I kept the stock one by that time. However, I had a little bit of trouble with Cops and my near neighbors because of the loud sound. To reduce sound I finally replaced the stock muffler with SuperSprint's as the one shown here
This made the SLS significantly quieter, especially during cold start-up. So no more complaints from neighbors .
I have one video of how the whole setup sounds like here (skip to minute 4:17)

Thanks bro
Thanks guys. It even sounds better when it is heard in front of you.
Hello Daniel,
I'm currently in Abu Dhabi, UAE for a business trip and I will be back to Qatar on Saturday evening. Once back I will record a video from outside as I don't have any videos from outside currently.

I must admit that I am one of those that loves the OEM sound of the SLS and anyone who tries to improve it fails miserably. But this set up you have and with the help of the two italians Roberto and Allesandro, is extremely exotic sounding. I cant beleive how this big motor sounds so high pitched and unique. I am in love with the sound your SLS generates. I may have to explore this a bit more as I have never been tempted to tamper with the sound of my SLS. Unbeleivable sound. You have planted a seed!!

Thanks for the kind words. I also higly agree with you that the OEM SLS AMG sound is very nice and many others who tried to improve it, miserably failed. However, the case is different for SuperSprint and I believe they made the best available after-market exhaust system for the SLS AMG. When I bought my SLS AMG I was not thinking of changing the exhaust, but when I saw and heard the exhaust sound for SuperSprint's SLS on SuperSprint's Youtube page, that's when I said time for some change
Currently I now have added SuperSprint's rear exhaust (muffler) to the setup so now my SLS sounds a little bit quieter but still having an excellent tone.Previously I had only installed the Racing Headers Manifold + X-pipe and kept the rear exhaust (muffler) stock (as in the video of the first post). Now I have the Racing Headers Manifold + X-pipe + supersprint rear exhaust.
Supersprint also offer a long-tubes exhaust manifold that can have catalytic converters installed with it if someone wants catlytic converters for their setup.
I currently don't have a video of my SLS after putting the SuperSprint's rear exhaust but I will record a video soon once I get back home to Qatar. But it sounds closer to this
The difference between my SLS and the SLS in the above video is that the one above has the long-tubes exhaust manifold with catlytic converter. Then the x-pipe+ rear exhaust are the same for both my SLS and the SLS in the above vdeo .

Sorry to bring this post up from the grave, but I remember (I believe) SLSQatar posted a video of his SLS, there was the noise coming and you see a car passing, and you think thats the SLS but the SLS was actually farther behind, it was shot at night, on the road that the original video is filmed on. Any help finding that video again would be greatly appreciated.
