No AMG performance. I do not see the button in the center console.

In 2011, you could get AMG Performance Suspension but it didn't have an on/off button. It's just always active. I know this because I occasionally have to vacuum under the seats to retrieve my dental fillings.

That's correct, no button. The suspension package was stiffer springs and matching shocks. I think it lowers ride height by 0.7 inches.

Code 486 - AMG Performance Suspension
Stiffer steel springs and shock absorbers for enhanced dynamic capability in high-performance driving situations. Optional – $1,500est

(Important Note: The AMG Performance Suspension features stiffer springs and shock absorbers which can have an impact on ride quality/compliance. This option is not recommended for customers who do not favor a very stiff ride with limited rebound and compression characteristics.

Attached is the dealer ordering guide for 2011. I think this was an early guide so some of the prices aren't correct, but gives you an idea what was available for options.

I have it on mine, really only bothers me on bad pothole roads. It's stiff but not outrageously. I haven't driven a non-version so don't have that to compare to, but I'm happy mine had that option since I like anything performance enhancing.

What a find! Assuming the CarFax is true (e.g., no accidents), then this SLS will move very quickly. Should be priced over $200k, IMHO.

CB engine compartment with CCB's & Bang Olsufen radio,
very rare to see an SLS with these 3 options.
Also, carfax shows 1 owner .

It's a GREAT time to buy these cars right now. The Black Series will be a million plus by 2027 and everything other SLS will be $400- 500k by then. Remember... in the USA Ford GTs ...out number SLSs by 2 to 1!

Good to know. I'll ask for a premium when I sell mine.

No options

First off, I am a die-hard M-B fan and have a '68 250 SL that was mechanically restored by the Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine, CA; I have owned it since 1991.

Missed out on buying 300 SL's when they were in the $150-300 range back in 90s!

I also have a '06 FORD GT and I am a big fan of owning limited production iconic exotic / collector cars. I watched with great interest the price dynamics of the Z8, SLR and Carrera GT.

I am targeting buying a SLS when it hits $100K:

-5-7 years appears to be bottom of depreciation curve for limited production / iconic exotics
-To get min 1yr left on 4yr factory warranty (eg, '13-14 Model yr?)
-Can Factory Mercedes Extended Warranties only be added to cars still IN OEM warranty period OR added after by 2nd owner.

My preference is a 2011 Iridium, Black Leather, no options with base 5 Star/double-finned wheels (I buy all my cars with $0 options on window sticker

Now, I realize asking on an M-B SLS Forum if they believe the SLS will depreciate another 25%-33% from today is like asking parents if their baby is ugly?!?

Well, I am asking from a pure economic/valuation point and in relation to $185K base MSRP:
Are you still in the market for a no option silver/black SLS?

Yes, been in contact with seller(s); sold (twice) for $139K via a Joplin, MS, ebay listing; now via a TX listing, sold for $139K here too, now relisted

This 2yr odyssey has been quite interesting; and my predictions from 2yrs ago are not far off...

Looked at half dozen Iridium/ BLK / 5-spoke cars ; bid $155K (declined my bid, later sold for $145K) and walked away from rest: "you are buying the seller, not the car" as the wise advice goes. Another 3 cars on market now.

Saw full round trip of prices go to $175+K and now back down to half dozen listings in $130sK for 20-30K mi. car.

In the meantime my $150K has gone up 25+% (and counting) in the stock market.

As another thread on current values says: "serious collectors can afford to wait for right car"

I'll find the right car.

Not to beat a dead-horse or raise a 4yr old thread...

Seems like a new floor, 10 SLS coupes now listed in $120K's on Autotrader (and even below, granted the $110-115Ks ones have accident history).

3 from M-B dealers with ~20K mileage; including one offering a $147K car, 10 days later for $129K.

My take is selling owners firmly believed their cars were $150K cars until they weren't; and now belatedly are realizing $125K cars, and dont want to miss that floor on way to $100K

Maybe its "peak auto" after-math, industry wide sales down-turn, floor-plan financing, automonous, uber or 10yr anniversary.

Good points especially with the amount of exotics on the market today. You have more choices than ever before and with new models coming to the market daily.

For the SLS AMG, vehicle’s with under 10k are still going for $167k or more. Try to find a well optioned car, with under 5k, good color, collector owner/maintained and one-two owners that is appropriately price.....they don’t exist! And when they do come onto the market, they sell in a very short period of time. Trust me, I know. I sold my silver coupe with the hopes of buying a Black Series. The car sold in 5 days and I had two competing buyers. I regret selling. So the search continues!
I know of a few low mileage, well optioned cars but unfortunately the owners refuse to sell and if they are willing, they want a premium. Just my take on the market!
