SLS Factory Trickle Charger?
I'd like to purchase a factory trickle charger for my SLS. There's a trickle charger receptacle in the trunk, but I can't find a charger with the correct connection.
The charger's i've found are either battery post or through the cigarette lighter receptacle.
Thanks
Jeff

I purchased the CTEK MUS4.3 trickle chargers for my SLS's and they are great. I think they were about $60-70 each on Amazon. The same charger is OEM for many high-end auto manufacturers such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. I can barely change a light bulb but I had them connected to the battery terminals in my cars in less than 5 minutes. In terms of ease of use, once installed, it is basically same as using the connection in the trunk.

PS I use a battery tender plus. The first time I charged up it took 2 and a 1/2 full days. Now It takes about 12 hours every 2 weeks.
So, don't panic if it takes some time to get to full charge.

I have the oem version, it is more expensive, but it is exciting to see how it is made for the sls only with its magnetic ports and connections.

Sorry about that. BTW, our local dealer has a web coupon for 10% off on accessories. Amazingly, they consider the charger a "part" but I managed to get them to honor the discount.
I've brought batteries back from dead with a trickle charger. Usually takes about 24 hours on the drip feed. The point is to not let it get that bad. With the quick connect in the SLS, it'll be easy to hook up if you know you won't be driving it for a few days.

I'm just getting up to speed on the SLS. I have the SLS specific connectors for the trickle charger, but no charging unit. I'll correct that soon, but was curious when charging the battery is the trunk left open?

I do not leave the trunk open, if you position the wire coming out of the trunk to the side a bit, the trunk will slam shut. If you are charging the battery directly under the hood, then leave the hood un latched, that way the battery when heating up has the ability to breath. As far as the trickle charger kit, I had a thread that I posted pics of the factory cables that came with the car that connect with the OEM trickle charger from MB, the cables connect with magnets, pretty impressive.
