Feels to me like the hydraulics (?) of whatever you want to call the mechanism that assists you with opening the doors - has gone bad. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Like any gas lifter struts, they get tired after a while. I had mine replaced about 6 months ago. They hadn't failed, per se, just getting pokey and not opening the door all the way or very quickly. Eventually, if you ignore it for a long time, they will fail to hold the door up at all and you'll need a broomstick.

Mine were no-charge. They either did it as a courtesy or under my extended warranty...not sure, but I never saw a bill.
