Based on the part number in your image a1974011202 and the appearance of the wheel, those are the authentic AMG wheels. Why did you think differently?

there are markings on the wheel which read "made in TW"

this may sound stupid I thought that TW is for Taiwan?

also there was no part number or made in Germany on the back of the spokes like some other Amg wheel have, so I was not sure. The overall look and feel of the wheel just had me questioning their authenticity, thats why I wanted to see if anyone has these wheels maybe perhaps they have different markings especially on the back of the spokes or else where.

I saw that made in TW too, but if you look at the third image down, on the left there is a parts number.

yes I realize the part number is there but if the wheel can be copied so can the part number, what I was looking for was a pic of the back of the wheel that someone was sure came from the factory would match this set.

my comment regarding the part number was that on a lot of the original amg wheels the part number is on the back of the spoke not on the back of the wheel hub. Also there is usually "made in Germany" stamped somewhere and these wheels don't have either.

yes very eye opening indeed! thank you Cls55

this makes determining which wheels were original to the sis somewhat more challenging. I will take one off of my car this wknd and add the pics here If I get to it, I have a pretty full plate this wknd working on my S8 so I may not get to it.

damn air ride....

finally got around taking the wheels off and surprise surprise

they are neither from germany, Italy or Taiwan , they are made in the USA

I didnt know a manufacturer would use so many different venders for one wheel?? something doesn't add up....

by the way anyone ever taken off the rear shocks need to know if the back speaker panel has to be removed in order to get to the top of the shock mount..
