Thumbnail photos not appearing

When clicking on thumbnail photos, the images don't load. Instead, a black screen with image controls appear but that's it. In order to view the pictures in full size, I have to right-click and open the image in a new tab. This happens on both Mac and PC with various browsers.

Thank you for letting us know, I'll take a look. Do you have an active 'pop up' blocker? If so, please try again with it turned off.

Hi Bob. Thanks for responding. I do have popup blockers installed, but turned them off to test and it's still the same problem. I've tested with Chrome, Firefox, and IE - same issue with all 3 major browsers. The weird thing is, that when you click a thumbnail, the screen turns black and has the image controls on the top but no picture.

Understood, yesterday I forwarded the issue to IB for review.

Thank you for the feedback, there was a Tech Ticket opened to fixed the issue.

Hi Bob,

The problem with the thumbnails isn't entirely resolved and I think it only affects older posts. As I've perused the forum, those newer posts that are less than a year old with thumbnails seem to work fine. It's the ones from mid 2016 and older that don't seem to register when clicked.

For example, post #22 in this thread has a thumbnail that does not load and this is from way back.

Now post #473 from 2017 in this thread works just fine.

Unfortunately, post #466 in the same thread but from April of 2016 has thumbnails that don't work.

Not sure who takes care of your site maintenance, but this should be addressed as it'd be a shame not to have archived photos working. Perhaps something went awry when the forum software was last updated?

Hi,

Thank you, I can duplicate the bug. I believe there is a tech ticket in to look at this. I will followup with IB.

but I think I have had this problem on all threads, regardless of age. Having trouble finding some more recent threads with attachments instead of inline photos. Inline appears to show fine. If you know of any recent threads, you can link me and I will give them a shot

The newer Unified Uploader places all photos inline and handles all text (txt., Xcel, Word, PDF etc) as attachments. As far as I know thumb nails are no longer used.

I guess i've just been looking at a lot of old crap then. I will continue to use the workaround that I found in this thread then and open in a new tab. Thank you Bob
