COSTA RICA?

Been thinking about a trip to Costa Rica just to check the place out. Hear it's a friendly place to visit with lots of things to do. Looking to do some diving, relaxing and shopping if there's anything to buy. Also hear it's a good place to stock up on prescriptions at fantastic savings over US prices.

Any recomendations or suggestions?

The capital isn't so great, but the rural and coastal areas definitely are. Fly in, get to the countryside as expediently as possible, and enjoy yourself! Lots of great 5-star resorts if that's your thing.

One of my old business partners had planned to retire to Costa Rica. The cost of living is low, rule of law is mostly stable and there is a large expat community. He was all set then his granddaughter had a baby and his wife was all involved in caring for the little one and did not want to leave the country. We sold our company and he went back into his consulting business for now.
