Trusted MB / AMG mechanics or independent shops?

Hello to all. As a new owner of a 2006 W220 S65 AMG, I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a mechanic or independent shop that specializes in AMG vehicles, or has extensive knowledge of the S65 platform in the NY tri-state area.

I'm currently in NYC during the week, and also have a home in NE Pennsylvania. So far, I've found one shop that's not too far from my Manhattan apartment called MINHS Automotive in Brooklyn that's gotten pretty good reviews on Yelp and Google. Has anyone here used them and are they knowledgeable enough to work on my car?

I'm also close to Mercedes Benz of Manhattan, which I understand is the only dealership in the USA owned by Mercedes. Not sure how they're service department is when it comes to trustworthiness and quality of work, but I'm sure they're expensive.

Any other recommendations are most welcome.

Thank you.

Eurotech Motorsports, hands down. Honest guys, quality work, and great prices. All my cars go to them for the last 6-7 years. If I owned a V12 Biturbo Benz I would already be there hahaha. Have them check it over in full.

Tell them Eddy sent you. Ask for Danek or Ryan.

MB of Manhattan is ok. I personally wouldnt go there.

Thanks for the recommendation. I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but I did as suggested and checked with them and a few other places regarding an ABC flush and fill. The cost of that particular service is very close (within $25.00) to the MB owned dealership in Manhattan. Given the average cost of labor in the area plus price per liter of Pentosin CHF-11S, I would hardly call what they quoted me as a "great price."

No worries, no ruffled feathers here. Im not a big fan of dealerships for anything but warranty work to be honest. Id always rather take my car to people I know are actually doing the job right and at top quality levels. Plus mb manhattan hasn't ever had a good review I've actually heard from people direct but a lot of that was couple years back.

When I called them, I was hoping to get a more competitive price, so imagine my surprise when the amount quoted was only slightly less than the dealer. Anyway, I'm sure Eurotech does good work and will probably use them for other services that I don't have specialised tools or expertise to do such as motor mounts. As for the ABC flush and fill, I'm going to do it myself and save $500 in the process.

Try Gene's German Cars in queens. Eugene the owner specializes in older Mercedes, but there is a younger guy there named Indrit, I think he also works at Benz of Manhattan, he works on my AMG.
