450 SL starter issue

I have a '75 450SL that has some electrical issue preventing it from starting. No elec to starter. Ignition changed, starter changed, new wire run for ground, fully charged battery. Is there some type of sensor for seat belt connection or other safety issue that may prevent starting?

... are always a good time.
I just saw this post. Looks like there wasn't any collective intelligence available. Were you able to figure it out. Actually, I hope that you did since its been a few years.

Did you check the electrical connections at the auto shifter? The car, obviously will not start if not physically and electronically in PARK.

Of course there are other areas to check such as the coil and its connections.

Where to begin? I suppose anywhere. Good luck. Especially if you are still trying to figure this out 2 years later.
