A couple of new mods to share for a few who asked...

Quite a few people asked me about my new AMS lightweight pulley that I installed a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to dyno the car for accurate results but let me tell you, the car is performing better than before. I know there are solid gains there and I can feel the great increase in power, especially now that the ECU learned the pulley. I haven't had a chance to clean up the engine because I've been working on it here and there but here is the new pully installed, well as best as I could show it:

I also recently installed a nice used RENNtech CF high-flow airbox and also have the RENNtech ECU upgrade. This combo is supposed to produce 20hp and 24lbs torque but let's see when I have the car on the dyno:

Last but not least, I haven't installed my new springs and shocks yet but I did previously swap out the stock #3 pads for #1's all around. A few people wanted some before and after shots of the car's stance so here you go (sorry I haven't washed the car):

Just replaced the oil with Royal Purple 10/40 along with replacing the oil pan silicone and the differential oil. Transmission service is next with new Bosch Platinum Spark Plugs and Magnecore 8mm wires. Not to far in the future I will be installing AMS headers as well but I'm waiting on Omey to perfect them. Steve is coming out here soon as well to install my Euro spec Command and TV tuner. Sorry again for the car being dirty in the pics but I will have it detailed once all the work is complete and have new tint installed.

I like it Jimmy!!:y

The airbox is sweet:bow:

I would like to see how much H.P. you really got:naughty:

Then we can race!!!:X

E55Bit 09-29-2007 09:32 PM

Damn nice set up Jimmy! :y

Could you tell if the difference in the butt dyno was just with the pulley or just the airbox/ECU? or were all installed at the same time or just about?

Also, the #1 pads look perfect to me!

Another note, I thinking of tinting my car what kind of tint did you use? And are you happy with the shop that did the tint? no bubbles? sorry for the long questions. TIA

:D

Thanks for the nice comments fellas! For those with questions they are answered below:

Hey Raff, yeah I'm curious too so we'll have to hook up at the place you know for the dyno in the valley and see what's really going on.

E55Bit, I haven't had a dyno on the car yet but it will be with everything thus far. The car came with its current tints so I am going to tint again because whoever did it didn't use the felt strip and the tint is now scratched. The tint that I normally use is made by Madico and it's a great company. I used to tint cars back in the day and they've been making tint for a long time. I love the shop that I use in Reseda, they're called California Tint Shop and the owner's name is David. If you'd like me to call and hook you up there I'd be more than happy too...

James, no problem and I think I can fit you in on Friday night but you'll have to leave your car overnight, ;) :zoom: :p:. My car is no Kleemann monster but it gets me going for now. My daughter's cute Puma jumpsuits and all her expensive stuff is where the funds are all focussed lately, lol. Wow, how nice it was to be single, lol...:naughty: :D

Thanks for posting pictures of the #1 pads it looks great I don't think springs will help but remove the inch over your tires. RennTech air box looks nice with the carbon fiber. I blueprinted my stock air box by removing the upper plastic that runs left to right and left all runners moving air to the back of box in the top of it and smoothed out all airports above the air filters. I left all plastic bellow filters alone. This has made some difference in HP to me while driving. I also put DEI heat reflective mat under the box where the filters live to keep temps lower where the air comes into the box for more HP.

The pulley looks good! I’m also waiting for the Dyno! Cool Thanks

This is what I used to use but got talked out of it from a million people, no joke. From my mechanics, to my racing buddies and from a bunch of heavy modders in here, Royal Purple I hear is the best. Let's see what happens...:naughty:

maxwerks 10-01-2007 04:53 PM

I am using Amsoil , is anyone else using that ?

jimmydagreek 10-01-2007 07:31 PM

I heard Amsoil is pretty good too but more comparable with Mobil1. Anyone with experience with any of these oils may chime in. Thanks!

Eurosport 10-02-2007 03:40 AM

lol no talking about oils
it only brings headaches, the info is just sooooo much so many threads and so many brand loyal discussions it's not even funny :D

i heard good things about Royal Purple in 5w40 for all german cars though

Yeah, lol, I know what you mean. Anyway, I'm using Royal Purple 10/40 as recommended and will see what happens.

Thank you to everyone about the nice comments, much appreciated...:)

My new shoes, what do you think?

First and foremost, excuse my messy garage, dirty car and dirty wheels, lol. I was just test fitting yesterday some DPE R08S wheels I just purchased in 19X8.5 / 19X10. I have only replaced the spring pads to #1's and I haven't installed my springs or shocks yet and now I know I need to. Check them out:

JamE55 10-04-2007 05:13 PM

^^ Pics above are Before springs and shocks installed.

After pics....coming soon to a theatre near you! :y:D:p:

Are those rims new or used? What rubbers you runin Jimgoogle?

RAFFIE55 10-04-2007 05:21 PM

Is that a 4x4 merecedes E55?:blah: Looks good Jimmy! Now just lower it please:X

jimmydagreek 10-04-2007 05:41 PM

Jamesheezy, the wheels are "pre-owned" lol and the tires are too small 235/35 and 265/30; I want 245/35 and 275/30. They're also Ventus sport tires and I don't likey so I'm looking for a new set of tires as we speak. I'm out of town again but when I get back next week the suspension with go in.

Raff, hahahaha, lol, I know it's too high now. It looked great on the stocks but not with the 19's. Can't wait to get the new springs and shocks in. They're just sitting in my garage...

JamE55 10-04-2007 05:46 PM

Jimboozle...sounds like those set came off a CLK chassis no? Must've been one hell of a deal for you to pass on even though the tires are the wrong size. lol The rims look good though.:y

You can always pile on 250lbs guys in your car. That should help lower it. lol:D:p: j/k

jordanst2 10-04-2007 05:56 PM

Jimmy are you going with H & R springs to drop the car? Have you considered the AMG euro springs from EVO sport?
