According to Kleemann, $7,000.
But seriously. It's my understanding the ECUs are VIN coded (permanently). Meaning you can't just swap, you would need to recode back to stock and the new S/C car would have to get retuned. It's probably easier to just swap cars if you're interested. Saves labor, saves tuning, etc. Ultimately, you'll be happier this way, too.

ECU is mated to certain parts that aren't easy or desirable to change over, like ME control unit, keys, etc.
I have seen Peter's car in person when it was getting the s/c install. It's a beauty! Good luck with the sale.

My understanding is that originally Kleemann was quoting about $15k for the S/C. $8k for the parts, $7k for the install. That's a little extreme.
A swap is basically 2 installs. A normal install means you have the parts in a box, you remove the stock part, and install the aftermarket part. A swap is two removals, and 2 installs. At Kleemann's original rate, that's $14k. Obviously, I'm sure another shop can do it cheaper.
But seriously, it's an awesome car, I would just buy it or arrange to swap.

Still, it's going to be a lot of labor.

I think placing the camshafts in my motor ,which was a pain in the culo would make installing this S/C kit in my car look like heaven. How hard could it be to install this kit in our cars if one has the tools?
This is what I'm saying to my self of course so don't kill me.

Wow Peter, I'll tell you this much, I would definitely not have been able to handle that car at 16. I got 3 speeding tickets before I was 18 in a small 2 door 4 cylinder. Oh what I would have done to a s/c W210 AMG.
I'm just afraid it will be dinged up and dented in no time. As long as none of her friends ever get behind the wheel, you shouldn't regret it too much.
Also, might I suggest a few days at a professional driving school for the young lady. Let her know that if she wants speed that you're willing to take her to the track anytime.
Edit: I wish it was just as easy to swap cars... the niece could have mine.

Dude, I remember reading a dad giving his 16 year old an M5 on a bimmer forum and the kid, well, I won't even go there, lets just say it didn't turn out good. Rethink it, no matter how mature she is for her age, it's still a 500hp rear wheel drive car that is super dangerous. At least take the supercharger off and even then, it's still too much of a car for a young kid.
I'm not trying to sound old or anything, just be careful and good luck

Hey, still for sale if you interested. she will give it back when ever i want it back. I just won a 95 acura NSX from a poker game and now she in love with that car. All i have to do is trade it with her to get it back. SO if you're interesed in the E55 let me know.
