Every time that I start my car, there is a loud tone that beeps. I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn it off.

What kind of tone is it? i don't recall my E55 made any tone at start up.

It beeps if you have an error code or you haven't plugged in your seat belt, but I can't think of any "phone" tones that I know of.

The beep beep beep noise that it makes? My car does that too at startup. And if I leave my lights on. It's definitely an annoying tone, but I think that's the point. It forces you to pay attention!

Do you have the factory telephone option? Argos Bluetooth module?

I have both and when I start the car up I get a single loud key beep (sounds like when a single dial tone). I've gotten used to it though. Sounds like I'm starting a plane or something

If you have connected the factory phone (analog, don't work this days) the 2 speakers in the dash get a single BEEEEEP tone, this is when the phone start with the car. if you turn OFF the phone & stay them OFF you can start/stop ur car without this tone

This occure only in the first gen. cars, i see some of this in a E420's E320's (L6) & some others..

But mine is the facelift though. I better take out that ol' manual and look it up.

Very rare! i never hear this in the newest models. anyway i think if you search in the phone configuration you can disable the START BEEP SOUND & when you star the car = start the phone, the phone can't emmit any sound working properly
