How many active members driving W210 E55's

Curious as to how many still driving the W210 E55's .

Neanicu888 07-06-2012 03:40 PM

I'm one.
This forum is dead anyway,it pisses me off sometimes.
The Knicks will win a Championship title before you get an answer here. There must be 10 members left here.
I asked a question about swapping tail lights and I got 1 measly answer in the form of ' maybe '.

WBE55 07-06-2012 04:19 PM

yeah i see what you mean , that was the reason for the thread , looking for some good resources i guess i have to keep searching .

First of all, it's not like a great number of these cars were sent to the US over their 4 year production run. If you take a look at the posts for the listed threads over the last few months you can get an idea as to how many active W210 posters currently roam this forum.

I would guess at a dozen active posters. Maybe add another 6 to 12 occasional posters.

It doesn't change the fact that these are great cars - and this forum still has a wealth of information going back almost ten years - if you do a search, chances are you will get an answer to your question.

I drive my W210 every week - I love the car - I am looking to get a W211 or W212 cannot decide between E55 or E63 motor. But, because of my W210, I am in no rush - I wait till the right car and deal comes along, but either way I will not sell the W210 - the car is too easy to maintain and so reliable - I cannot think of another car that is as fast, comfortable, reliable, safe, easy to maintain and fun on the highway. Enjoy this car - it was the first of the One-Man-One-Motor AMG's and the last of the Car Purist's AMG's (no-gadgets) :y

Just put 1k+ miles on mine this week and loving every second of it. Almost 145k miles already and averages 24-25mpg freeway.

WBE55 07-06-2012 04:32 PM

Thanks for the info, and i agree with your comments about the E55 , I just purchased my E55 , and i cant believe how great it is. Mine will be my DD for the time being. I dndt expect very many reply's simply based on the facts you stated.

+1

Couldn't have said it best... Nice job Tsquare!

There's still a great crew on here that will still assist on questions. I know that we were introduced to a new MOD a few months back, but I've yet to hear from him.

Just did 2k to Colorado from North Dakota and back this week.

WBE55 07-06-2012 11:10 PM

I love it Free, How many miles on your E55 ? I can't believe how amazing this 13 yrs old is, Highway driving is intoxicating.

freethinking3 07-06-2012 11:21 PM

About 120k

BlownV8 07-07-2012 12:10 AM

210 E55 is the last of the reliable, fast, comfortable, and affordable AMG's made. The new AMG's are far too complex to make long term ownership attractive if you are using as a daily driver.

Do you have a sound clip of you W210 with the exhaust mods ? i Was thinking along those lines .

ruBENZ 07-07-2012 01:00 AM

To keep her healthy, my '00 E55 sees a minimum of 3K miles per year (currently at 75,158 mi). I have owned many vehicles over the last 40 years. Two years ago, I found a great deal on a low mileage 996 Porsche Carrera. My general rule has always been drive it; then trade it. My E55 would have traded for 50% of the value of this great 911. For the first time, I just could not bring myself to trading my E55. I opted to pay full price for the 911. My E55 is priceless, and worth every penny that I spend on her. In fact, just last month, I did not hesitate to drop $2K for general maintenance. The 911 has become my daily driver. The 911 is very quick, and a thrill to drive. But, when I have the need for a smooth drive, or when I am faced with a long stretch of road, the E55 is my go to vehicle. Surely, the bug to trade will hit me again. More than likely, it will be the 911 that will be traded. Leaving my E55 as an obvious keeper por vida.:y

MB2001e55 07-07-2012 02:44 AM

My 01 E55 is my DD and a pleasure to drive. Just ordered a new windshield and getting it installed Monday. Aftermarket is $290 and MB is $500 so going with the aftermarket. Just changed my lower ball joints last week and steering is tight again.

The Knicks will win a Championship title before you get an answer here. .

A lot has happened over the past years, many members were acting up and many moderators were over reacting.
Most of all if you dont use the search feature you will not get an answer right away because some may think that youre too lazy to do a little research.
As far as the Knicks winning ? nope :rolf::D

vincentie 07-07-2012 09:57 AM

Use mine as daily also! Disagree on the forum tho ,great source of info with guys who are passionate about their vehicles! Hey easy on the knicks, long suffering fan (hahahaha)

Neanicu888 07-07-2012 10:29 AM

Actually Mb_Fahrer reached out and helped me with my question. And the Knicks still haven't won anything...
Haha!
Thanks Ricky!

To the OP: Mine always has been a daily driver but now it's my commute vehicle. I come here about once a week to see what others are doing to give me ideas (dreams, really). Right now, I needs shocks and I'm seriously considering some coil-overs - so, I've been reading about that.

Remember, our e55's comes with blue insulated glass allround (including windshield) aftermarket windshield are not blue line glass, also you need the windshield with rain sensor support :y take care, some windshields comes without sens and you would lost the first stage rain feature.

I don't have a sound clip yet, but for the time being I'm back to stock aside from the AMS headers. I'm stockpiling some parts right now for something a little more "custom". :naughty:
